Optimizely consultant and architect
Optimizely CMS and Commerce give editors and shoppers a lot in one platform, and give developers many ways to build things that are hard to maintain. I help teams keep the solution clear: sensible content models, clean integrations and an upgrade path that stays open.

When this is the right call
- You are upgrading to a current Optimizely version, or moving to Optimizely from another CMS such as Umbraco, and need a plan.
- Editors struggle with the content model, or every change needs a developer.
- Product, price and order data have to flow between Optimizely Commerce and your CRM or other back-office systems.
- The solution has grown hard to deploy, test or run in the cloud.
What I do
Architecture and solution review
A read of the solution as it is: content model, code structure, hosting and integrations, with the risks ranked and a sensible order of work.
Upgrades and migrations
Planning and de-risking the move to a current version, or to Optimizely from another platform, including the migration of content and data.
Commerce and integrations
Catalog, pricing and order flows connected to CRM and third-party systems, designed so that one slow system does not stall the checkout.
Custom development
Features, scheduled jobs and APIs in .NET and C#, built to be tested and handed over.
Questions
- Do you work on Optimizely CMS, Commerce or both?
- Both. They are usually deployed together, so I look at the two as one solution.
- Can you help us move from Umbraco or another CMS to Optimizely?
- Yes. The hard parts are usually the content model, the migration of existing content and URLs, and the editors’ working habits, so I plan those first.
