Backend integrations for ecommerce and CMS
The ecommerce platform is rarely the hard part. The hard part is everything it has to talk to: CRM, payment, shipping, product data, finance. I design and build the integration layer so that one slow or failing system does not become an outage of the whole platform.
- CRM integration
- Order management
- Third-party APIs
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure Functions
- Idempotent handlers
When this is the right call
- Orders, stock or customer data are out of sync between systems, and nobody can say which one is right.
- Every platform change breaks an integration.
- Failures are found by customers before they are found by you.
- You are adding a new system, a new market or a new sales channel, and the integrations will have to carry it.
What I do
Integration architecture
Which system owns which data, how it moves, and what happens when something fails. Documented so the next person understands the decisions.
Order management flows
How an order moves from checkout through fulfilment to finance, including cancellations, returns and partial deliveries.
Reliable messaging
Queues, retries, deduplication and dead-letter handling on Azure Service Bus, so that handlers can safely run twice.
Monitoring and ownership
Correlation IDs, per-vendor dashboards and alerts, so a provider problem reaches you before it reaches support.
Questions
- Do you build the integrations or only design them?
- Both. I design the architecture and can build the services in .NET and C#, or review and guide your own team.
- Which platforms do you integrate?
- Shopify, Optimizely, Dynamicweb and others, including Umbraco and WooCommerce. The patterns are the same across platforms; the details differ.
